Mission report May 24th 2016
We could today spot a refugee boat that was not able to set off a distress call on its own and was therefore drifting into death off the Libyan coast. Aboard 131 people including 50 women, 1 pregnant and 15 children.
One child needed to be treated by our medical team at our hospital ward due to severe pneumonia and dehydration. The kid and his mother have meanwhile reached European mainland for further treatment. All remaining passengers and staff are doing well.
Thanks SOS MEDITERRANEE for cooperation.
