The idea
We are a group of activists from Sea-Watch who want to highlight the lives of people crossing the Mediterranean Sea through a staged reading. We are currently in the process of developing the format.
For this we are looking for poetic material, for example music, songs or poems, that deal with the reality of the lives of refugees, with people in distress in the Central Mediterranean or similar.
The implementation
The reading is to be developed as a technically uncomplicated version that can be performed by activists at conferences, festivals, reading evenings and the like. We would like to play music and read out poems that go with it. From autumn onwards, we plan to develop a script for theatre stages, either as a permanent collaboration with a theatre house or an ensemble that goes on tour with the play. Live music would be very appropriate for this. Without funding, the staged reading is currently a voluntary project. The premiere is planned for the end of July as part of the “Kulturelle Landpartie” in the Wendland.
Please send your music and poems to sandix@sea-watch.org or share this call with your friends!
We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the use/rights of use or any other questions and look forward to hearing from you!
