In April, our crew rescued or assisted over 430 people in distress at sea. Based in Lampedusa, we can quickly and efficiently reach emergencies with our rescue ship Aurora, support other sea rescue organizations during their missions, or stabilize boats until the Italian coastguard arrives.

After an intense training phase, our crew was able to rescue 80 people on April 13th. When Alarm Phone alerted us about a boat in distress, we immediately set out to search for it. Despite challenging weather conditions, after hours of sailing, we were able to bring everyone safely to Lampedusa.Nach einer intensiven Trainingsphase konnte unsere Crew am 13.04. 80 Menschen retten.

With 80 rescued people on board our small ship and high waves, it was a tough situation for everyone: both crew and guests became seasick, and some of the rescued suffered painful chemical burns from fuel and saltwater in the escape boat.
After an intense day, we were relieved to be back on land and grateful for the warm welcome at the pier – thank you to our friends from RESQSHIP und DAKINI!
Easter Rescue in the Mediterranean
Our Seabird and Aurora crews helped rescue around 140 people on Easter Saturday. We are incredibly happy that everyone is now safe in Lampedusa.
After our Seabird crew spotted a boat in distress on the morning of April 19th, we rushed to help with our rescue ship, Aurora. We stabilized the boat and provided food and water to the people in distress until the Italian coastguard arrived.

Shortly after, Aurora received another distress call — a two-story wooden boat with about 50 people on board. Together with our friends from SEA-EYE , we set course for the emergency. While the Sea-Eye 5 supported with their fast boat, our Aurora crew checked on a third possible distress case nearby. In the end, the Italian Coast Guard took over and brought all 50 people safely on board.

Alerted by Alarm Phone, we assisted two boats in distress with the Aurora. During the night, we supplied the first boat with life jackets and food until the Italian Coast Guard safely brought everyone on board. Among the more than 160 rescued people, there was also a medical emergency.

In the morning, we assisted another boat in distress until the Coast Guard safely brought these people on board. Now all those rescued have safely arrived in Lampedusa, and one person is receiving treatment in the hospital. We wish them a swift recovery and a future full of hope and opportunities.
