Sea-Watch launches an airplane for airial reconnossaince in the Central Med, extending its humanitarian rescue operation in a new cooperation with Humaitarion Pilot Initiative (HPI) as Sea-Watch Air.
The catastrophic conditions for refugees call for a more effecient rescue efforts and the use of air survaillance. It will allow us a broader scan of the operational area as well as more structured operations within the network of aid organizations on site.
The microlight airplane is readily refitted and equipped. After completion of a preparation period including pilot training and test flights the airial reconnossaince will start shortly and continue as long as flight conditions are favourable and the crisis in the Med prevails.
Still we demand: Safe Passage!
