Alarm Phone states: “Water is entering the boat and there is a risk that it will sink.”\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>17:58 UTC\u003C\u002Fstrong> The Italian Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Rome issues INMARSAT SAR case 1771 on behalf of the “Libyan Navy Coast Guard”, providing coordinates for a distress case recorded at 16:03 UTC. The source of these coordinates remains unclear. Based on several indications, including the boat’s estimated speed, Sea-Watch believes that this may be the same boat in distress as the one reported by Alarm Phone.\u003Cbr>\u003Cstrong>18:50 UTC\u003C\u002Fstrong> The Frontex aircraft Eagle6 circles in the vicinity of the coordinates of the distress case reported by Alarm Phone, not far from the position published by Italy for INMARSAT case 1771.\u003Cbr>\u003Cstrong>22:44 UTC \u003C\u002Fstrong>The emergency hotline Alarm Phone sends another email to state authorities with updated coordinates: 34° 06’ N, 001° 39’ E.
